Cecilia is the author of more than 40 books for the school and library market. Her articles have been published in The Boston Globe and in Odyssey Magazine, a science magazine for children.  

After earning degrees in English and English Education, Cecilia wrote grants and educational materials for non-profit institutions including a science museum and a ballet company.  She also spent several years teaching high school, college, and adult education classes.  

When she's not writing, Cecilia works as a teacher/naturalist at a nature sanctuary, exploring the woods and wetlands with her students.  Cecilia also enjoys playing the violin in a community symphony orchestra and is an avid hiker, birder, gardener, and nature photographer.  She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
